Rule #9 Assume the person you are listening to might know something you don’t.
Rule #9 Assume the person you are listening to might know something you don’t.

It sounds so easy, so common sense, but there is more to listening than we want to acknowledge. If you are truly listening, truly hearing – you might change. YIKES!!! Change takes courage. Admitting you’ve changed takes courage – all of that change could start from just listening. In this video (you can also download…

Rule #8 Tell the truth, or at least don’t lie.
Rule #8 Tell the truth, or at least don’t lie.

We’re all liars – YIKES that’s tough to write and even more difficult to admit on an individual level. Rule #8 in Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules for Life, Tell the truth or at least don’t lie – forces us to take an inventory of ourselves and the Gods or masters we serve. I’ve got a…

Rule #7 Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient)
Rule #7 Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient)

“Freedom requires constraint” Nietzsche & Dostoevsky. Purse what is meaningful. It sounds like such a tall order, but after listening you’ll find the most difficult part is determining what is meaningful to you, to your life. When we hear the term “Meaning” we often think it must be associated with some big altruistic goal. That…

Rule #6 – Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world.

“Then he asked himself the most difficult of questions: had he personally contributed to the catastrophe of his life?” p155 We are all guilty of contributing to the bad things that have happened in our lives, taking inventory of those things and holding ourselves accountable is the only way we can truly set our own…

“Actually, it’s not okay.” These are the opening words from Rule #5 – they reference how a child is allowed to behave/not behave in public. How our children behave in public, how they are received, if they are liked, if they are accepted – will dictate their success – socially, emotionally and quite possibly financially.…

Rule #4 – Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.
Rule #4 – Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.

An exploration of Jordan Peterson’s Rule #4 from his book 12 Rules for Life. This week I’m joined by special guest Shawna Zoltay. Rule #4 is truly impactful, especially when you view it through the lens of social media. Everyone appears to have a “Pinterest Perfect” life on social media. How can you compare yourself…

Empty Nest to Final Rest!

Hi I’m Tiffany.

I’ve been blessed with a life of success, successful relationships, successful health, and a little financial success as well. It has been far from perfect – (get the details here) but I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
I’m delighted that you’ve decided to join me as I move through the 4th quarter of life – or possibly the 2nd half if I’m lucky. You’ll find no sadness here, just joy for what comes next.

We’re all headed the same direction – from empty nest to final rest – I hope you’ll find these posts, videos, and pictures – funny, inspiring and thoughtful.

So gather up your sense of humor and let’s have some fun!
- T.
